One Story, Four Channels

Kosmosis began in August 2024 as a visual narrative on Instagram.

It started with a simple intention: to look at Korea beyond its most familiar images and first impressions. To pay closer attention to the places, people, histories, and cultural codes that shape how Korea is lived and understood.

In its early days, much of this work was published under the name Seoul Goodman, a persona created alongside Kosmosis. As Kosmosis has grown into a broader editorial and creative platform, that name will no longer be used as a byline. From now on, its writing and creative work will be credited to Taeyun Paik, founder and editor of Kosmosis.

Seoul Goodman remains part of the project’s origin story, but Kosmosis will move forward under the name of the person behind it.

Over time, those observations expanded into long-form essays, printed books, cultural strategy, and objects. The renewed thekosmosis.com is designed to bring these different expressions together in one place.

The new website is now home to The Journal, The Kosmosis in Print, The Foundry, and the wider story behind Kosmosis.

Alongside the renewal, we are also introducing a clearer publishing system.

At the center is one Kosmosis story. Rather than reproducing the same content everywhere, each channel will express that story through the language, format, and rhythm it handles best.

The Kosmosis

The English editorial home of Kosmosis.

New essays, features, and cultural observations will be published first on thekosmosis.com, offering international readers a deeper view of Korea beyond trends and familiar narratives.

Naver

The official Korean edition of The Kosmosis.

Korean articles will be published on Naver, creating a dedicated space for readers who want to engage with these stories in Korean.

Instagram

The visual expression of Kosmosis.

Selected stories will be reworked into image-led narratives, with Korean text in the carousel and English in the caption. Not shortened copies, but visual interpretations designed for the way stories are encountered on Instagram.

Threads

The conversational extension.

Articles will continue in Korean through shorter observations, additional context, and conversations that may begin with a published story but move somewhere new.

One story, four channels.
The same point of view, expressed through different languages, forms, and rhythms.

Welcome to the next chapter of Kosmosis.
