Visual Poetry: In the Shades of Han River Park

Experience Seoul’s urban oasis through words and images. Swipe to explore the park’s many moods, from lively paths to peaceful nooks, captured in both pictures and poetry.

In the Shades of Han River Park

Where the city’s heart beats green,
And shade holds serenity’s grace,
Enjoy Hangang with a friend,
Or find your own quiet space.
All walks of life converge as one,
To lose themselves where rivers run.
In this blend of green and gray,
Finding moments that brighten the day,
With a promise to return, time and again.

    Seongsu: Dissonant Coexistence

Seongsu breathes through “dissonance” rather than harmony. In this place where disparate elements coexist in their own rhythms, we find the freedom to let go of the obsession with finding correct answers.

성수는 정교한 조화가 아닌 ‘불협’으로 숨 쉬는 동네이다. 이질적인 것들이 각자의 리듬으로 공존하는 이곳에서 우리는 정답을 찾아야 한다는 강박을 내려놓는다.

  • Rethinking Korea’s Global Brand: What We’re Missing About Ourselves

An Anthropological Perspective on Culture, Identity, and Storytelling I recently came across an insightful interview with Pauline Brown, former North American Chairman at LVMH, in Korea’s JoongAng Ilbo. In it, she describes Korea’s explosive global popularity — through K-Pop, K-Dramas, and K-Beauty — as akin to “sweet candy,” beloved globally yet at risk of losing momentum unless…

Suwon: The Comfort of a Timeless Cityscape

A few days ago, I visited Suwon for the first time. And I was genuinely surprised. Of course, Suwon wasn’t an unfamiliar name. I knew about Suwon galbi, the old campus of Seoul National University’s College of Agriculture, and the Suwon Paik clan. I had also heard of Hwaseong Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage site,…
